Sales & Ops Mgr - Logistics and Vessel Agency

As a member of the Sales team, your primary responsibility is to connect with clients under the guidance of the Sales Director. Together, you will work towards enhancing the customer profile and expanding the business for the Ship Agency business unit. In the Operations aspect of the role, you will be tasked with preparing Pre-Departure Advices (PDA) for vessels that will be calling at various West African Ports including Abidjan, Luanda, Doula, Lome, Dakar, Lagos, and others. Your duties will involve coordinating with the vessels and principals to arrange port of call activities such as bunkering, cargo operations, Cash of Master, spare parts, stores & supplies, underwater cleaning, and crew changes. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating with port authorities, pilot offices, and immigration departments to ensure seamless port clearance. It will be essential to compile arrival and departure reports and arrange for boarding of vessels when necessary. You will also be required to engage with charterers, freight forwarders, and shipowners to ensure the timely execution of charter party/fixtures. Keeping the vessel schedule updated for relevant principals and clients as per charter party/fixtures, along with handling post-fixture matters, will be part of your routine tasks. Following up with vendors and clients on matters concerning port disbursement accounts, BL & documentation fees, ocean freight, and demurrage will be crucial. Moreover, verifying and ensuring the accuracy of disbursement accounts (DA), reconciling on freight, DA, and other collectibles with principals and clients, and maintaining proper documentation will be essential responsibilities. Your role will also involve handling inquiries from various stakeholders promptly and efficiently, providing necessary information, and reporting as required. The position may involve work from home flexibility and cell phone reimbursement. The work schedule will typically be during the day shift, and the primary work location will be in person.
