Job Overview:

The Sales Manager will lead business development and sales initiatives for biometric and security solutions (such as fingerprint and facial recognition technologies) within the Government and PSU domain. The role involves driving revenue growth by engaging with government departments, public sector undertakings, and system integrators, while ensuring compliance with tendering, empanelment, and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Sales Strategy & Execution:

Develop and implement sales strategies specifically for Government and PSU clients.

Identify, pursue, and secure opportunities in e-Governace,

Smart City, Gas/Refinery, power and other public sector projects.

Achieve assigned sales and business development targets in the designated territory or domain.

Ensure alignment with company objectives and market expansion goals.

2.Business Development:

Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officials in government bodies, PSUs, and system integrators.

Track and participate in government tenders, RFPs, and empanelment opportunities.

Lead techno-commercial discussions, prepare proposals, and drive closures for large- scale government projects.

Collaborate with OEMs, partners, and internal technical teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

3.Customer Relationship Management:

Serve as a key point of contact for Government and PSU clients, ensuring consistent engagement and service delivery.

Address client requirements, provide demonstrations, and offer customized solutions.

Maintain high client satisfaction and facilitate long-term partnerships.

4.Market Research & Intelligence:

Monitor government policies, tender forecasts, and digital transformation initiatives.

Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing trends, and new technologies in the biometric domain.

Recommend product and solution enhancements based on government and PSU needs.

5.Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor sales executives focused on government accounts.

Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to the team.

Foster collaboration between sales, product, and project delivery teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field; MBA preferred.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales or business development, specifically within the Government/PSU domain.

Proven track record of handling government tenders, RFPs, and empanelment processes.

Experience in biometric, security, IT, or e-Governance projects preferred.

Strong network and understanding of government procurement frameworks (GeM, NICSI, or similar).

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and site visits.

Skills:

Strong understanding of government sales cycles and approval hierarchies.

Strategic and analytical mindset with ability to forecast sales opportunities.

Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.

Knowledge of biometric technology applications in government projects.

Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a sales or business development role, preferably in biometrics, security technology, or IT solutions.
  • Strong understanding of biometric technologies such as facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, and iris recognition.
  • Experience selling to industries such as government, banking, healthcare, and corporate security is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently for client meetings and industry events.
