Job Description

Role Overview: As a Sales Development Engineer at Cognex, you will have a unique opportunity to be exposed to various aspects of the business including Product Marketing, Engineering, Technical Support, and Outside Sales. Your role will involve collaborating with Marketing on strategy and lead generation campaigns, shadowing experienced sales engineers in sales territories, and working on funnel generation projects within different business units. Key Responsibilities: - Qualify inbound Marketing and Sales leads using established sales strategies to create a sales funnel - Initiate and engage in conversations with strategic targets to assist in converting marketing leads into new accounts by collaborating with Field Sales Engineers - Acquire technical expertise on the diverse Cognex product portfolio through comprehensive hands-on training - Conduct research and reach out to key target accounts based on discovered information - Prioritize and progress sales opportunities with respective Sales team members/leaders - Foster relationships and communication across departments - Manage project-creation activities in the CRM database - Provide feedback to enhance Marketing and Sales effectiveness and efficiency initiatives Qualifications Required: - Demonstrate a results-oriented and proactive mindset to achieve goals efficiently - Possess a background in engineering or manufacturing with a keen attention to detail - Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions in person and over the phone - Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) - Strong listening, note-taking, and de-briefing skills - Bachelor's degree required; Concentration in a Technical or Engineering track (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical) - Customer-facing experience within a highly-technical hardware or software engineering and manufacturing company is advantageous - Proven ability to comprehend business objectives and accomplish goals Role Overview: As a Sales Development Engineer at Cognex, you will have a unique opportunity to be exposed to various aspects of the business including Product Marketing, Engineering, Technical Support, and Outside Sales.
