Job Requirements for Sales and Marketing in a 4-Star Hotel Education Bachelor’s Degree: Required in hospitality management, marketing, business administration, or a related field. Advanced Degrees: An MBA with a marketing or hospitality focus is highly valued for senior roles like Director of Sales and Marketing. Experience Entry-Level Roles (e.g., Sales Coordinator, Marketing Assistant): 1-3 years in sales, marketing, or hospitality (e.g., internships, event coordination, or guest services). Familiarity with hotel operations or client-facing roles. Experience with corporate accounts, travel agencies, or online travel agencies (OTAs like Expedia). Proven track record in revenue growth and team management. Specific Experience: B2B sales targeting corporate clients, event planners, or tour operators. Managing digital marketing campaigns (social media, email, PPC). Working with hotel revenue management systems (e.g., Opera, Amadeus). Skills Hard Skills: Digital marketing: SEO, PPC, social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), and email marketing tools. Data analysis for tracking KPIs like occupancy rates, Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR), and campaign performance. Budget management for sales and marketing initiatives. Event sales skills for group bookings, weddings, or corporate events. Soft Skills: Strong communication and negotiation for client pitches and vendor contracts. Creativity to design appealing promotions, packages, or loyalty programs. Guest-centric approach to align marketing with 4-star service standards (e.g., personalized guest experiences). Leadership for managing teams and collaborating with departments like revenue or operations. Adaptability to handle seasonal demand and market shifts. Responsibilities Develop and implement sales strategies to attract corporate clients, group bookings, and leisure travelers.
