To ensure a safe working environment in the hazardous chemical plant by implementing statutory regulations, company safety policies, and best practices for chemical handling, storage, and transportation.
1. Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations and company policies related to hazardous chemical handling, storage, and transportation.
2. Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments in plant areas dealing with hazardous chemicals (e.g., Chlorine, HCl, etc.).
3. Develop and implement SOPs, work permits, and emergency response procedures.
4. Monitor and enforce proper use of PPE and safe work practices among workers and contractors.
5. Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and mock drills (chemical leak/fire/explosion).
6. Investigate incidents, near-misses, and prepare reports with corrective and preventive actions.
7. Maintain records of safety audits, permits, training, and statutory compliance.
8. Coordinate with statutory authorities and external agencies for audits, inspections, and emergency support.
1. Graduate in Science/Engineering (preferably Chemical) with Diploma in Industrial Safety.
2. 37 years of experience in hazardous chemical / process industry.
3. Good knowledge of OSHA, Factories Act, Environmental laws, and chemical handling practices, State Pollution Control Boards and CPPB.
4. Strong communication, training, and emergency response skills.
