Job Purpose/Summary:

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Safety Compliance:

    Ensure strict adherence to all national and local occupational health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment:

    Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification throughout the plant (Smelter, Refinery, CCR, Maintenance areas).
  • Incident Investigation:

    Lead or assist in the investigation of all safety incidents, near misses, and accidents. Determine root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Training & Awareness:

    Develop and deliver safety training programs for new hires and existing employees (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hot work, chemical handling, PPE). Conduct regular safety drills.
  • Audits & Inspections:

    Participate in internal and external safety audits, prepare reports, and track the closure of audit findings.
  • Safety Documentation:

    Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, training logs, and compliance
  • Emergency Preparedness:

    Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and
  • PPE Management:

    Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safety Committees:

    Actively participate in and support plant safety
  • Health & Hygiene:

    Monitor workplace hygiene and industrial health aspects, coordinating with medical services as needed.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR)
  • Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)
  • Near Miss Reporting Rate
  • Safety Audit Compliance Score
  • Safety Training Hours per Employee
  • Hazard Identification & Closure Rate

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related
  • Recognized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, Diploma in Industrial Safety) are

Required Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a heavy manufacturing or process industry, preferably in metals, mining, or chemicals.

Required Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Indian and international

    SHE regulations

    (e.g., Factories Act, ILO guidelines).
  • Strong understanding of

    risk assessment methodologies

    and

    incident investigation techniques

    .
  • Excellent

    communication, presentation

  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the
