Key Responsibilities

Their responsibilities include: Developing safety policies: Create safety policies, procedures, and training programs Conducting inspections: Regularly inspect workplaces to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations Investigating accidents: Investigate accidents and injuries, and address complaints from employees or employers Training employees: Participate in or conduct employee safety training Staying up to date: Keep up with new health and safety legislation and industry changes Advising management: Advise management on the implications of health and safety legislation Maintaining records: Maintain a log of accidents and injuries, and prepare accident reports Preparing reports: Prepare reports on safety and risk activities Supporting compliance: Help with compliance and audits Managing safety complaints: Manage safety concerns and complaints Developing emergency response plans: Develop and train around emergency response plans
