Job Title- HSE Officer

Department - HSE

Location - Savli, Gujarat

Reporting To - Site Head

Role Objective

monitor health and safety, assess risk, and design strategies to reduce potential hazards on site

Primary Responsibilities

• ensures compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines,
• advises on safety topics, conducts risk assessments,
• enforces preventative measures to create a safe workplace
• Preventing work accidents or illnesses that might cause physical and psychological harm.
• Prevent losses to Man, machine, materials
• Avoid employee litigation against the company
• MR for all safety audits and manage all compliances at site

Performance Evaluation (KRA/KPIs)

• Safety training completion rates
• Near-miss reporting rates
• Safety audit compliance rates
• Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)
• Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR), or Injury Severity Rate

Experience

Must have worked in chemical industry, preferably in polymer/engineering plastics industry and in HSE function for at least 7-10 years

Qualification

BE, ADIS/PDIS, Safety Management from reputed and recognised top colleges, universities of Gujarat and other states of India

Required Exposure

• Hazard identification and assessment
• Compliance of safety audits
• Training to staff and workers regularly
• Hygiene at workplace

Desired Exposure

• Classifications and Disposal of waste & waste management
• Error proofing
• Workplace inspection
• Implementing policies related to Health, Safety & Environment - inline with legal & mandatory requirements
• Conduct Investigations on incidents

Skills & Competencies

• Good communicator
• Manage Emergency situation
• Guide the employees during emergency
• Consulting with medicos on medical issues that might arise
• Monitoring safety Performance of site

Knowledge

Required:

• 8D reporting for failures, DFMEA, CAPA, 6 sigma, GMP

Desired:

• ISO, OSHA, Detailed Oriented, SOPs, 5s,
• Industry knowhow & standard practices on HSE
