Job Role: Safety Officer Function: Safety Operations Reporting to (position): Safety Manager Take update of previous day (24 hours activities) w.r.t. to incidents/accident, chemical exposure analyze the reports & report any deviations immediately to seniors. Conduct tool box meeting with safety team, discuss the scope of the day & last day work update. Allocate jobs to the team as per department activity schedule. Check & update the status of safety equipment stock to immediate superior on a regular basis and ensure the availability of critical safety equipment for any emergency situation. Ensure that JSA(Job Safety Analysis) & "permit to work system" is strictly implemented in the factory. Raise PO (Purchase order)/"service work order" through SAP for various service work orders. Workplace monitoring by VOC meter to identify the gas exposure, leakages & spillages, measure levels of sound at defined place with sound meter & enforce the necessary PPEs. Identify & prepare action plan for any unsafe conditions and present/report it to concerned superior, identify & resolve the unsafe acts immediately. Supervise the work of contract workers & company employees to identify any unsafe practices and minimize incidents. Ensure compliance of relevant statutory requirements. Organize safety promotional activities to increase the awareness of safety systems in the premises. Audit the permit closures to analyze & identify the lags. Prepare the monthly & yearly summary of all inspection & permit audit reports. Conduct training programs on safety, health and environment on regular basis. Ensure the implementation of Zero Tolerance through regular audits. Ensure appropriate investigation and reporting of OH&S (Occupational health and safety) incidents, transport incidents and implementation of corrective actions. Responsible to update on-site emergency plan periodically and ensure that safety committee meetings are organized timely. Ensure employees working at factory are trained and mock drills are carried out periodically to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency preparedness. Ensure that necessary monitoring and measurement of HSE performance parameters is carried out. Prepare the monthly corporate report & MPR (monthly progress report). Ensure that appropriate, adequate & quality PPEs (Personal protective equipment) are made available to the employees. Issue & verify the hot work, vessel entry/ confined space entry & height work permit. Ensure third party HPT (hydraulic pressure testing) of fire extinguisher and SCBA cylinder, carry out third party inspection of SCBA set, fire extinguisher. Ensure the periodical calibration & servicing of the safety portable equipments & spares and maintenance of firefighting and other safety appliances. Provide PSSR (Pre startup safety review) for any new process or equipment. Investigate incident/accident if any with an objective to find out the reason by conducting a proper RCA (Root cause analysis) with concerned employees. Regular inspection of fire DG (Diesel generator) pump, Electrical Pump & Jockey Pump to identify and report any deviations. Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Chemical or Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Bachelor's or diploma in Environment or Industrial safety with Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory) Certifications/Trainings: ADIS
