Safety Engineer

Role Overview: As the Safety and Health Coordinator for the carbon plant greenfield project, your primary responsibility is to ensure the effective implementation of safety and health systems throughout the construction, commissioning, and early operational phases. Your role is pivotal in fostering a proactive safety culture, minimizing risks, and ensuring legal compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the development and execution of site-specific EHS management plans, including the preparation of Health & Safety budgets and monthly plans. - Ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. - Identify and assess hazards, prepare and review Job Safety Analyses for critical activities, and manage risk effectively. - Organize safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training sessions for the workforce and contractors to enhance safety awareness. - Conduct daily site monitoring, safety walks, and audits to verify safe work practices and report any unsafe conditions or behaviors. - Track and report unsafe conditions and behaviors, drive corrective actions, and lead or support investigations and root cause analyses for safety incidents. - Maintain accurate documentation of permits, trainings, audits, incidents, and statutory compliance. - Manage contractor safety, ensuring alignment with project EHS requirements. - Prepare on-site emergency plans, support the development and execution of emergency response plans and mock drills. Qualifications Required: - Proven experience in safety and health coordination, preferably in construction projects. - Knowledge of relevant safety laws, rules, and regulations. - Strong communication and organizational skills. - Ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and investigations. - Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to hazard reporting. - Commitment to fostering a safety-conscious culture and ensuring legal compliance. - Certification in occupational health and safety or related field is a plus.,
