As a Rug Designer at our high-end rug atelier, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional handmade rugs for both custom and collection-based projects. Your focus will be on collaborating closely with clients, interior designers, and manufacturers to bring unique design concepts to life. Key Responsibilities: - Create original rug designs tailored to the specific requirements of custom and collection-based projects. - Work closely with clients, interior designers, and architects to understand their design needs and preferences. - Develop detailed design specifications, including color palettes, patterns, and textures, ensuring design integrity. - Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure accurate interpretation of designs, weaving techniques, and material selection. - Stay updated on current design trends, materials, and rug-making processes to maintain design innovation. - Manage a portfolio of custom and bespoke projects, overseeing the design process from concept to production. Qualifications: - Proven experience in custom rug design, with a portfolio showcasing your work. - Strong understanding of weaving techniques, rug materials, and finishing processes. - Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD, or hand sketching. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and manufacturers. - Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. - Experience working with international rug manufacturers will be considered a plus.
