Rug Designer (Custom Work Experience Required)

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and creative Rug Designer with proven experience in custom projects. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, a strong design sensibility, and the ability to interpret and execute bespoke client requirements. This role involves close collaboration with both clients and manufacturers to ensure design integrity from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create original rug designs for custom and collection-based projects.

• Work directly with clients, interior designers, and architects to understand and translate design requirements.

• Develop detailed design specifications, including color palettes, patterns, and textures.

• Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure accurate interpretation of designs, weaving techniques, and material selection.

• Maintain a strong awareness of current design trends, materials, and rug-making processes.

• Build and manage a portfolio of custom and bespoke projects.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in custom rug design (portfolio required).

• Strong understanding of weaving techniques, rug materials, and finishing processes.

• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD) and/or hand sketching.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience working with international rug manufacturers is a plus.
