Job Description

A Room Attendant, also known as a Housekeeping Room Attendant, is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of guest rooms and public areas in hotels and other lodging establishments. Their duties include cleaning, restocking supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for guests. Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning: This includes tasks like vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash.
  • Bed Making and Linen Change: Room attendants are responsible for changing bed linens and towels, ensuring fresh supplies are available.
  • Restocking Supplies: They replenish toiletries, amenities, and other in-room items like coffee and tea.
  • Reporting Maintenance Issues: They identify and report any damages, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Providing Excellent Customer Service: Room attendants may assist guests with requests, such as providing extra towels or pillows, and should be courteous and professional in their interactions.
  • Following Established Procedures: They adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness of Public Areas: This may include cleaning hallways, lobbies, and other common areas.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail:A keen eye for detail is essential for ensuring rooms are thoroughly cleaned and supplies are properly stocked.
  • Physical Stamina:The job requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Customer Service Skills:Room attendants interact with guests and should be able to handle requests and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team:Some tasks require independent work, while others are completed as part of a team.
  • Communication Skills:Clear communication is necessary for reporting maintenance issues and interacting with guests.
  • Physical Stamina:The job involves physical activity like cleaning and moving around the hotel.
  • HM Degree or Diploma: While not always mandatory, a Hotel Management diploma or equivalent is often preferred.
  • Previous Experience (Preferred):Prior experience in housekeeping or a related role is often beneficial.

In essence, a Room Attendant plays a vital role in creating a positive and comfortable experience for guests by ensuring a clean, well-maintained, and welcoming environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Fresher

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹14,000.00 per month
