Job Summary: The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring excellent guest service, and maintaining high service standards. Acting as a link between the guests and the service staff, the Captain ensures smooth operations during shifts and handles guest interactions professionally. Key Responsibilities: Welcome guests and assist with seating arrangements. Take and confirm food and beverage orders courteously and accurately. Supervise and guide waiters/stewards in providing efficient and friendly service. Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely delivery of orders. Check prepared dishes before serving to ensure quality and accuracy. Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally. Train new staff and ensure the team follows service protocols and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness and proper setup of the dining area before and after service. Assist with billing, table turnovers, and closing duties. Promote daily specials or upsell food and beverage items when appropriate. Ensure guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in restaurant service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good leadership and team coordination abilities. Well-groomed and presentable with a professional attitude. Work Environment: Front-of-house restaurant setting. High interaction with guests and service/kitchen staff. Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere with standing for long hours.
