Job Title: Restaurant Captain
Company: Grill & Co. – Resto Café

Job Summary:
The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining smooth coordination between the kitchen and the dining area. The role requires a well-groomed, service-oriented individual with good communication and leadership skills who can handle busy restaurant operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Service & Experience
Greet and seat guests in a courteous and professional manner.
Ensure customers are attended to promptly and that orders are served correctly.
Check guest satisfaction during and after meals; handle any complaints professionally.
Maintain high service standards, cleanliness, and table setup as per company guidelines.
Ensure that customers receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service at all times.
2. Team Supervision & Coordination
Supervise waiters, stewards, and service staff on the floor.
Brief staff before service about the menu, special items, and promotions.
Assign tables and sections to service staff and ensure equal workload distribution.
Coordinate between kitchen and service team to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Conduct on-the-job training for new service staff.
3. Operations & Standards
Monitor order taking, billing, and serving processes for accuracy.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area and service stations.
Ensure all cutlery, crockery, and glassware are clean and properly arranged.
Maintain records of customer feedback, special requests, and reservations.
Assist the Manager in daily operations and report any issues promptly.
4. Sales & Upselling
Promote menu items, special dishes, and beverages to increase sales.
Train service staff in suggestive selling and upselling techniques.
Ensure that all items served match portion and presentation standards.
5. Compliance & Safety
Follow food hygiene and safety regulations as per FSSAI standards.
Ensure staff comply with grooming and personal hygiene policies.
Report maintenance or safety concerns to the Manager immediately.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management or Food & Beverage Service.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a restaurant or café as a Captain / Senior Steward.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Good knowledge of menu planning, service sequence, and POS operation.
Must be fluent in Malayalam and basic English.
Willing to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
