Job Description: Research Scientist - Pigments/Synthesis and Injection Stretch Blow Moulding Industry

Qualifications:

• Education:

  M.Sc. in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry

• Experience:

  5-6 years in the synthesis of pigments, dyes, specialty chemicals, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), and intermediates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Operation:

• Proficient in operating equipment such as:
• Two roll mill
• Injection moulding machine
• Hydraulic press (specifically for pigment analysis in plastics)

• Research and Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive literature surveys and feasibility studies for intermediates and final compounds.
• Assess the availability of key raw materials (RMs) and create detailed RMC sheets for the costing of final compounds.

• Synthetic Chemistry:

• Extensive knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry.
• Expertise in performing a variety of reactions and scaling up processes effectively.

• Purification Techniques:

• Skilled in purification methods including:
• Column chromatography
• Vacuum distillation
• Crystallization techniques

• Structure Elucidation:

• Proficient in structure elucidation and interpretation of spectra using:
• NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance)
• IR (Infrared Spectroscopy)
• HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
• GC (Gas Chromatography)
• Mass Spectrometry

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Review application data interpretation and ensure complete documentation in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
• Maintain up-to-date lab reports, record keeping, and lab equipment maintenance activities.

Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of Pigments:

• In-depth understanding of pigments and their applications, particularly in paint, ink, and plastic industries.

• Communication:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
