Research Associate / Senior Research Associate R&D Down Stream

Role & responsibilities

• Work unsupervised, interpret experimental data and documenting results towards development and optimization of downstream processes.
• Operation, and routine maintenance of FPLC, microfiltration, Ultrafiltration and other Process equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, prepare presentations and maintain confidential information.
• To be present in the workplace according to shift requirements and adhere to the assigned shifts.
• To travel to different branches and location according to the requirements of the team and help in technology transfer and implementation of the process
• To supervise the processes at the different branches and locations of the company as per the requirement.
• Column packing till pilot scale and evaluation of column packing and maintenance of the chromatography columns and resins.
• Take responsibility as shift in charge having control over the complete shift operation.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and confidential information.
• Work independently, analyse and interpret experimental data.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes.

Ensure and promote safe work environment and laboratory practices

• In depth experience with chromatography techniques including ion exchange, hydrophobic, gel filtration, mixed mode, and affinity chromatography.
• Good exposure to manual operation, lab scale and pilot scale FPLC purification systems is necessary, with experience in column packing and evaluation of the packed column.
• Good experience in filtration techniques including microfiltration, depth filtration, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, nanofiltration, sterile filtration etc. is required.
• Good experience in TFF (cassette, hollow fibre and spiral filtration), process and filtration development. Knowledge on alternate filtration techniques like ceramic filtration, sparkle filtration and filter press is also preferred.
• Exposure to documents like PDP, PDR, TTD etc is required.
• Well versed in sterile operation, Pyrogen free handling and product filling.
• Good knowledge and hands on experience with protein quantification, gel electrophoresis, western blot is preferred.

2-6 years of experience in purification of recombinant proteins, scale-up and tech transfer to cGMP manufacturing facility in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or related environment
