Research Associate for North Western Railway (NWR) Project

Role Overview: You will be involved in a project with North Western Railway (NWR) focusing on evaluating the current status of goods and parcel traffic and developing strategies to enhance NWR's market share in the freight and parcel business. This role requires comprehensive data collection, stakeholder engagement, and strategic analysis to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and market competitiveness. It provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to transportation, logistics, and large-scale operations management within one of India's critical public sector organizations. Key Responsibilities: - Collect, clean, and analyze operational and commercial data related to goods and parcel traffic of NWR. - Conduct stakeholder interviews and surveys with railway officials, freight customers, logistics service providers, etc. - Prepare technical reports, presentations, and policy briefs for submission to NWR. Qualifications: - Masters degree in Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, or related fields. Additional Details: You will be working out of IIM Udaipur with the PI and Co-PI. However, you must possess the ability and willingness to extensively travel across Rajasthan on a frequent basis for data collection, interviews, and survey work. It is essential to have a good command of Hindi and English, be proficient in MS Excel, and have excellent written and oral communication skills.,
