About the Role : Renewable Energy and Cost Optimization Manager

Role Objective:

The Renewable Energy and Cost Optimization Manager is responsible for implementing strategies that enhance Sifys use of renewable energy and reduce energy costs. This role requires (1) Originate, negotiate and execute power purchase agreements. (2) Analyse data centre power demand and buy short term power to reduce cost (3) Monitor and improve performance of operational RE projects

Key Responsibilities:

Renewable Energy Strategy & Implementation

• Execute renewable energy strategies to meet corporate sustainability and cost-saving goals.
• Evaluate and lead the procurement through PPA of solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects.
• Assess renewable energy procurement options such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs and virtual PPAs.

Energy Cost Optimization

• Analyse energy consumption and utility data to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Lead cost-benefit analyses for energy-related investments and recommend solutions that improve ROI.
• Negotiate utility contracts and optimize energy purchasing strategies to reduce spend.

Project Management

• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder coordination for renewable energy and efficiency projects.
• Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations for technology and service providers.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to energy and environmental performance.
• Track, analyze, and report on energy performance metrics and cost savings.
• Prepare reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with Legal, finance and sustainability teams to align energy goals across the organization.
• Support training and awareness programs for staff related to energy efficiency and sustainable practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering,.

Experience:

• Experience in negotiating PPAs.
• Proven track record in cost optimization and financial modeling.
• Experience with energy management systems and analytical tools.

Skills:

• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and utility rate structures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and energy analysis software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
