Job Description

We are looking for a

Backend Developer

to join our newly established tech team, focused on creating Sharia-compliant FinTech solutions. This role requires a proactive individual who will collaborate closely with the Tech Lead and Frontend Engineer to develop scalable and secure backend systems for lending and brokerage functionalities targeting SMEs and start-ups in the Saudi market.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop backend services and APIs to support lending workflows and third-party integrations.
  • Implement data ingestion and transformation pipelines using GenAI and OCR technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead to ensure architectural alignment and scalability.
  • Integrate with third-party APIs relevant to the Saudi financial ecosystem.
  • Ensure backend systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance.
  • Participate in daily syncs and agile development cycles using JIRA.

Key Requirements:

  • 4–8 years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and cloud-native development.
  • Experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
  • Exposure to FinTech, lending platforms, or financial APIs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GenAI/OCR integration is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first startup environment.
  • Experience with Saudi market or Sharia-compliant systems.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in developing software for financial services.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in FinTech.
  • Experience with data privacy best practices.
  • Understanding of agile methodology, including SCRUM practices.
