About the Role

Release Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Release Planning & Governance

• Own and manage the end-to-end release calendar across AEM, NextJs, and NodeJs projects.
  
• Conduct release readiness reviews, stakeholder approvals, and production deployment sign-offs.
  
• Define and communicate clear Go/No-Go criteria and deployment statuses.
  
• Track and report key release metrics – deployment frequency, success rate, rollback count, and post-release defects.
  

2. DevOps Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a 12-member DevOps team managing CI/CD pipelines and environment automation.
  
• Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and build a culture of ownership and accountability.
  
• Ensure timely delivery and SLA adherence for all deployment-related activities.
  

3. CI/CD & Automation

• Oversee and optimize build/deployment pipelines using

  GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps

  .
• Implement automated, version-controlled deployments across environments.
  
• Integrate code quality, vulnerability scanning, and automated testing into the CI/CD lifecycle.
  
• Continuously enhance deployment velocity and reduce manual efforts.
  

4. Environment & Cloud Management

• Maintain environment consistency across production and non-production setups.
  
• Manage provisioning and scaling of

  AWS services

  (EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Lambda, Route 53, etc.).
• Integrate with tools such as

  Akamai/CDN, New Relic, and Splunk

  for performance monitoring and alerting.
• Establish effective DR strategies, backup policies, and incident management procedures.
  

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Product Owners, QA Leads, and Architects to plan and prioritize releases.
  
• Ensure alignment between Tech, QA, and Business teams for seamless delivery.
  
• Act as the single point of contact during release windows and post-release support.
  

6. Risk & Incident Management

• Identify and mitigate risks related to overlapping releases and interdependencies.
  
• Define rollback and contingency plans for critical deployments.
  
• Lead war rooms and RCA discussions for failed or delayed deployments.
  
• Implement continuous improvements based on RCA outcomes.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum

  3 years of experience

  in Release Management or Change Management.
• Proven experience

  leading a mid-sized DevOps or Release team

  (10–15 members).
• Strong understanding of

  Agile methodologies, ITIL principles

  , and release governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage

  multiple weekly releases with zero downtime

  .
• Excellent

  planning, communication, and stakeholder management

  skills.
