Regional Trainer

Job Title: Regional Trainer Modern Trade (FMCG)

Level: Mid-Level

Location: Regional (Extensive Travel Required)

Role Summary

The Regional Trainer Modern Trade will be responsible for driving capability building and performance improvement of frontline sales and merchandising teams across Modern Trade accounts. The role focuses on enhancing product knowledge, in-store execution, selling skills, and adherence to MT processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct induction, refresher, and skill-based training programs for MT sales promoters, merchandisers, and supervisors.
• Deliver classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training aligned to Modern Trade formats and KPIs.
• Coach field teams through regular store visits, ride-alongs, and live demonstrations.
• Roll out training for new product launches, promotions, planograms, and visibility standards.
• Identify performance gaps and recommend targeted training interventions.
• Coordinate with Regional Sales & MT teams to align training plans with business priorities.
• Maintain training MIS, attendance, assessments, and post-training effectiveness reports.

• Strong understanding of FMCG Modern Trade operations and store execution
• Excellent training, facilitation, and coaching skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Analytical mindset with focus on training impact and performance metrics
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region

Education & Experience

• Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred)
• 3–6 years of experience in FMCG sales training, MT operations, or field sales
• Prior exposure to Modern Trade formats is mandatory
