Job Responsibilities

Product & Compound Development

• Develop next-generation rubber hose compounds and refine/update existing formulations.
  
• Design and develop rubber compound formulations for new products based on market and customer requirements.
  
• Lead advanced testing, analysis, and development of new or improved rubber compounds.
  
• Benchmark competitor materials and products to develop superior solutions.
  
• Develop new materials and create new validation/test methods for rubber compounds.
  

Technical Expertise & Material Validation

• Conduct raw material testing, rubber compound testing, and hose testing as per ISO, EN, BS, SAE, ASTM standards.
  
• Analyze and validate new raw material suppliers; recommend improvements or supplier changes.
  
• Prepare detailed reports on project activities, test results, failure analysis, and recommendations.
  

Process Improvement & Technology

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in compound design, cost reduction, mixing cycle efficiency, and cure time optimization.
  
• Identify and execute lean, scrap reduction, and variation reduction projects.
  
• Support optimization of mixing, extrusion, and curing processes to enhance product performance and consistency.
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Provide technical support to Engineering, Operations, R&D technicians, Quality Control, and customers.
  
• Lead or participate in functional teams and R&D projects.
  
• Assist in implementing project objectives, systems, timelines, and budgets.
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain and develop R&D documentation, reports, standards, and procedures.
  
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
  
• Prepare technical documentation for internal reviews, audits, and customer presentations.
  

Industry Engagement & Development

• Stay updated with the latest technologies, materials, and industry advancements through conferences, training, and technical literature.
  
• Meet suppliers to review new materials and innovations.
  
• Communicate technical findings and industry updates to internal teams.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience in

  Rubber Hose / Rubber Compound R&D

  is mandatory.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision except in highly complex situations.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical interpretation skills.
  
• Ability to explain advanced chemistry and rubber technology concepts clearly.
  
• Strong communication skills for technical discussions and cross-functional coordination.
  
• Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
  
• Excellent multi-tasking, teamwork, and time-management skills.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with industry standards (SAE, IS, FDI, ISO, etc.).
