R&D Executive - Food Technology

Role Overview:

We are looking for a results-driven R&D professional in Food Technology to lead the development of innovative formulations across functional foods, beverages, nutraceuticals, and herbal/natural products. The role involves end-to-end ownership of product ideation, formulation, trials, and scale-up; ensuring safety, stability, and consumer relevance. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in food science while also demonstrating creativity to translate consumer needs into commercially viable products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize formulations for new food, nutraceutical, and herbal-based products (powders, beverages, blends, etc.).
• Conduct ingredient research, trials, and stability studies to ensure product quality and efficacy.
• Collaborate with production teams to scale formulations from lab to plant level.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation (formulation sheets, SOPs, process notes).
• Work with quality and regulatory teams to ensure all products meet applicable food standards.
• Monitor market trends, new technologies, and consumer insights to drive pipeline innovation.
• Conduct sensory evaluation and support packaging/labeling from a technical perspective.
• Ensure cost-effectiveness and manufacturability while maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food R&D, preferably in functional foods, beverages, or nutraceuticals.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, food processing, and stability testing.
• Knowledge of herbal/natural formulations is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience in conducting lab trials, pilot plant runs, and sensory evaluations.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and marketing teams.
• Strong communication and adaptability to manage multiple product categories.
