R&D CONSULTANT

Description

Specialty Manufacturing Company with R&D facilities near Kolkata is looking for R&D Consultant. He should have hands on experience in developing specialty chemicals such as various types of esterification, reverse engineering techniques, flame retardants& anti-corrosion coatings.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Research Strategy and Planning:

Application research developing new chemistries leading to innovative products coordination with internal and external partners and stakeholders, transparent, critical and analytical thinking, team work and collaborative approach, troubleshooting a priority.
Identify research areas and opportunities for developing new flame-retardant chemicals and anti-corrosion coatings.

Project Management:

Define project milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
Conduct regular progress reviews and provide guidance to researchers to overcome challenges.

Team Leadership:

Facilitate skill development and training opportunities to enhance the teams capabilities.
Encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to drive breakthrough innovations.

Technical Expertise:

Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in these fields and apply relevant knowledge to the projects.

Collaboration and Networking:

Foster collaborations with external research institutions, universities, and industry partners to leverage expertise and resources.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that all R&D activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the regulatory affairs team to obtain necessary approvals for new products.

Intellectual Property (IP) Management:

Safeguard the companys intellectual property by encouraging patent applications for novel technologies and innovations.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field with a focus development of diverse products lines for the industry.
Proven experience (at least 20 years) in leading R&D teams within the chemical industry, specifically in specialty chemicals field.
Strong knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements related to chemical research.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in utilizing research tools and techniques for product analysis and testing.
