Raw Material Procurement- Assistant Manager

1. Raw Material Procurement

• Strategically procure raw materials: Grains (Rice, Maize), flours (Besan, Suji, Maida), Sugar

and Spices, ensuring adherence to quality and food safety standards.

• Monitor seasonal and product-wise pricing; suggest alternate sourcing based on market

trends and availability.

• Visit mandis and supplier locations for price discovery, quality verification, and supplier

evaluation.

• Coordinate logistics for timely and cost-effective delivery to production units.

2. Vendor Development & Management

• Identify and develop new vendor sources for continuous supply assurance.

• Negotiate procurement contracts and maintain long-term vendor relationships.

• Track vendor performance using KPIs related to cost, quality, and on-time delivery.

3. Cost Optimization

• Drive cost-saving initiatives through:

• Market-based price negotiation
• Alternate sourcing channels
• Efficient freight and logistics management

• Maintain updated knowledge of commodity markets and mandi rates for proactive sourcing.

4. By-product Sales

• Manage sales and distribution of by-products like cattle feed to external buyers.

• Identify new customers and build partnerships to maximize revenue from waste utilization.

• Monitor dispatch and payment follow-up for by-product sales.

5. Demand & Supply Planning

• Collaborate with production and inventory teams to forecast demand and plan

procurement.

• Balance supply chain dynamics to avoid overstocking or stock-outs.

• Monitor and manage raw material inventory levels based on lead times and production

needs.

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding of agri-commodities and food-grade raw materials

• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills

• Knowledge of mandi operations, freight logistics, and warehousing

• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/tally systems

• Ability to manage field visits and develop vendor networks independently
