Quality Head/DGM (Bicycle industry, 15yr exp as HOD-QC/QA/SQA))

Job Responsibilities & KRA's for Quality Head- Bicycles:

SQA

Take decision in case of any non-conformity in the product either received from supplier or dealer (accept/reject/deviation) considering material urgency/ cost implication.

Ensure monthly worst supplier reporting from SQA and ensure supplier process audit plan is prepared and audits are conducted as per plan.

Conduct monthly worst supplier meetings with supplier team and review audit observation and closures by suppliers through CAPA.

Workout New supplier selection process and approval mechanism based on request from Purchase/internal team.

Plan and conduct trainings for supplier teams and internal teams on quality tools eg- 7QC, APQP, FMEA etc.

Process improvements and validation of supplier

. Vendor Selection, Rejection and Re-appointment of Vendors of major Bicycles parts.

Customer Complaints

Redefine the customer complaint SOP and implement time based closure mechanism with robust CAPA and effectiveness check. This should include interim response time, containment action and final closure.

In process Quality

Implement FOI and patrol inspection in complete plant wherever there is a batch production and 100% inspection in Paint and cycle/wheel assembly.

Set up a robust mechanism to capture daily process quality issues and reporting.

Workout a Pareto analysis mechanism for high rejection items (Quantity & cost) to define priority for CAPA.

To initiate Quality alerts for relevant in process issues and customer complaints.

Mechanical Lab:

Ensure that calibration of instruments/ testing machines (Plan vs adherence).

To verify that all quality records are properly maintained such as BIS and ISO requirement records etc.

To ensure that random checking of components from stores manufactured in-house or bought out are checked regularly or not.

Time and Motion Study and targets revision for all processes and ensure OEE..

General Points:

Manpower mapping of QA department.

Timely preparing of MIS Reportand Quality related documents

Ensure that all machines should be compatible as per ISO-4210,ISO, 8098

Review quality infrastructure and suggest technology up gradation.

Ensure that 5S and Kaizen audit plans are adhered.

To maintain personal log book (day book in which daily activity in mentioned) and get it reviewed by HOD.

Departmental log books to be checked daily along with the personal log book of quality engineers.

To perform other duties assigned time to time by seniors/ management.

Explore & Implement VAVE/Kaizen ideas to generate cost saving by applying automation, productivity improvement and manpower saving etc.

Coordination for ISO/Social Audit

• Ensure Quality Management System processes are established, implemented and maintained.
• Ensure that even the down line workers in the organization are aware of customer requirements.
• Act as the key coordinator for the development of the quality system and suggest where improvements are needed.
• Ensure that company third party accreditations are obtained and maintained (ISO standards)
• Ensure all policies, procedures, and work instructions are documented in a clear, simple and concise manner and released after management approved.
• Assist in the preparation of tenders by providing management system related documents.
• Identify relevant legislative requirements and ensure fulfillment.
• Control and maintain the company audit and risk assessment schedule.
• Prepare and submit monthly management reports relating to work done over the month (the improvements, new initiatives or projects).
• Assist and schedule necessary meetings of departments with the management as and when required.
