Role & responsibilities

Job Title:

Role Summary

Responsible for ensuring the quality of castings through metallurgical analysis, process control, and coordination with production teams. The role involves monitoring metal chemistry, sand properties, and physical testing, while driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Perform
spectrometer analysis
and
microstructure analysis
for metal chemistry verification.
Check and control the
chemical composition
of metals using spectrometer or gravimetric analysis.
Suggest appropriate
metal compositions
for cupola and induction melting for various grades.
Maintain
housekeeping standards
as per quality objectives.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure
quality castings
.
Train inspection staff and operatives as per customer requirements.
Conduct
physical testing
,
sand testing
, and
visual inspection
of castings.
Control
moulding sand properties
as per the quality plan.
Interact with customers and address feedback effectively.
Suggest methods to
reduce rejections
and improve process efficiency.

Desired Profile

Education:
Diploma / Degree in Metallurgy, Foundry Technology, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
5-10 years in foundry quality control or metallurgical analysis.
Technical Skills:

Spectrometer operation and chemical analysis techniques.
Knowledge of cupola and induction melting processes.
Physical and sand testing methods.
Microstructure analysis and interpretation.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
Ability to train and lead inspection teams.
Problem-solving and rejection control expertise.
