Roles & Responsibilities of a Quality Checker (Innerwear Manufacturing)

1. Fabric & Material Inspection

• Check the quality of fabrics, elastics, threads, lace, and trims before production.
  
• Ensure raw materials meet company standards for softness, durability, stretchability, and comfort.
  

2. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)

• Inspect cut panels, stitching, and seam alignment during different stages of production.
  
• Monitor elastic attachment, waistbands, straps, hooks, and seams to ensure proper placement and finishing.
  
• Ensure correct sizes and patterns are followed as per the approved samples.
  

3. Stitching & Workmanship Check

• Verify neatness of stitching (lock stitch, overlock, flatlock, cover stitch, etc.).
  
• Ensure there are no loose threads, skipped stitches, broken stitches, or open seams.
  
• Check label placement and ensure care/wash labels are attached correctly.
  

4. Fit & Measurement Verification

• Cross-check garment measurements against approved size charts.
  
• Ensure proper fitting, stretch recovery, and comfort in innerwear.
  

5. Final Quality Inspection (FQC)

• Conduct 100% inspection or AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) sampling before packing.
  
• Check color shade matching, fabric defects (holes, stains, oil marks, puckering).
  
• Verify packaging, barcoding, and tag accuracy as per buyer requirement.
  

6. Defect Identification & Reporting

• Identify defects like fabric damage, wrong stitching, improper elastic attachment, size mismatch, or stains.
  
• Record defects in inspection reports and report to supervisors/line in-charge for corrective action.
  

7. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure all garments comply with company quality standards and buyer specifications.
  
• Follow hygiene and safety protocols during handling of innerwear products.
  

8. Continuous Improvement

• Provide feedback to production and tailoring teams to reduce rejections.
  
• Work with supervisors to implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring issues.
