Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Quality Management System (QMS) & Documentation

  • Develop & Implement:

    Design, establish, and continuously improve the project-specific Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO standards and company policies.
  • Documentation Control:

    Oversee the preparation and approval of all QA/QC documentation, including Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Checklists, and Project Quality Manuals.
  • Audits:

    Plan and execute regular internal and external quality audits to identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained.

2. Technical Expertise & Site Execution

  • Structural QA/QC:

    • Oversee the quality control of all Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) activities, including formwork, reinforcement placement, concrete mix design, pouring, and curing, especially in high-rise vertical construction.
    • Ensure NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) compliance and monitor third-party material testing laboratories.
  • Finishing & MEP Coordination:

    • High-End Finishes:

      Drive quality checks for all critical finishing works, including blockwork, plastering, tiling (floors, walls), facade installations (unitized/semi-unitized systems), painting, and millwork.
    • Interface Management:

      Closely coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) teams to ensure quality checks at all interface points (e.g., core drilling, sleeve placement).
  • Specialized Systems: Waterproofing & Expansion Joints:

    • Waterproofing:

      Mandate and verify the quality and application of all waterproofing systems (e.g., liquid applied, membrane, crystalline) for basements, wet areas, terraces, podiums, and roof areas. Ensure proper detailing and water tightness tests are performed.
    • Expansion & Construction Joints:

      Supervise the correct installation, sealing, and detailing of all expansion, contraction, and construction joints to prevent structural distress and leakage.

3. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Team Development:

    train, mentor, and manage a team of QA/QC Engineers/Managers across multiple project sites.
  • Vendor/Subcontractor Management:

    Review and approve sub-contractors' quality plans and monitor their performance against established standards. Hold quality induction and training for site workforce.
  • Client Interface:

    Act as the primary QA/QC point of contact for the client/PMC (Project Management Consultant) and lead all joint inspection, testing, and sign-off processes.

4. Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)

  • Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs):

    Initiate, monitor, and close out all NCRs raised by the project team or third-party inspectors.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA):

    Conduct thorough RCA for chronic quality issues and implement robust preventive measures to eliminate recurrence.
