Job Title: Biogas Purification Plant Operator (CBG Plant technician) Reports To: Plant Incharge Education : Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering Experience : 3–5 years as Electrician. Industry Preferred : Biogas Industry, Oil and Gas. Job Summary: The Biogas Purification Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the biogas purification unit. This includes monitoring equipment, conducting routine maintenance, recording operating parameters, and ensuring the production of high- quality purified biogas (Bio-CNG or biomethane) that meets industry standards. Job Responsibilities: Operate and monitor biogas purification systems (e.g., PSA, water scrubbing, membrane separation). Ensure smooth and continuous operation of all plant components such as blowers, compressors, dryers, scrubbers, H₂S removal units, and gas storage systems. Monitor process parameters and record data (pressure, temperature, flow rate, gas composition, etc.). Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform preventive and minor corrective maintenance. Maintain accurate logs of production, downtime, maintenance activities, and incidents. Ensure the plant adheres to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Coordinate with the maintenance team and management for troubleshooting and repairs. Take gas samples and assist in lab testing and analysis for methane content, CO₂, H₂S, and moisture. Handle start-up and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently. Respond quickly and effectively to alarms and operational issues. Skills & Competencies: Basic understanding of gas purification processes and equipment. Familiarity with PLC/SCADA-based control systems is an advantage. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical Equipments blower, vacuum pump, high pressure compressor and electrical systems. Knowledge of safety protocols in gas handling and pressurized systems. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work in shifts and during emergencies.
