Purchasing Officer

As a Purchase Executive at our company located in Chennai, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth procurement process. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, goods, and services while meeting quality and cost expectations. - Ensure timely delivery of raw materials and consumables to support uninterrupted production. - Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices. - Develop and maintain a vendor database, evaluate supplier performance, and ensure compliance with company policies. - Raise Purchase Orders (POs), follow up for delivery, and ensure proper documentation. - Track market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and better vendor terms. - Handle procurement of engineering spares, packaging material, and other plant-related purchases. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Commerce, Supply Chain, or related fields. - 2-4 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setup. - Strong negotiation and communication skills. - Knowledge of GST, POs, Invoicing, and ERP software is an advantage. - Ability to handle multiple vendors and maintain proper documentation. Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position with a 6-day work week in a day shift schedule.
