Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities for all Special Process materials, consumables, and supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify procurement needs and align purchasing strategies with organizational and project requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct periodic stock assessments, and implement robust inventory control measures to avoid stockouts and excess.
  • Create, release, and track purchase orders; follow up on deliveries; and resolve discrepancies or supplier-related issues.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards in all procurement and stores activities.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and pricing fluctuations to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of purchasing, inventory transactions, and generate MIS reports as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and stores management.

Qualification:

  • BE/Diploma/B. Tech or any relevant field

Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, stores, or inventory management preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills for effective vendor interaction.
  • Proficiency in purchasing and inventory management software/tools.
  • Good understanding of supply chain and procurement best practices.
  • Analytical skills to monitor market trends and evaluate vendor performance.
  • High attention to detail for accurate inventory and documentation management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in procurement processes.

  • On-time procurement and delivery adherence.
  • Cost savings achieved through effective vendor negotiation and sourcing.
  • Inventory accuracy and reduction in stockouts/excess stock.
  • Supplier performance improvements and relationship management.
  • Compliance to procurement policies and audit standards.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of documentation and MIS reports
  • Internal stakeholder satisfaction.
