PURCHASE OFFICER

Essential Qualification/s & Experience etc. :

Education : A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Management or a related field. Professional certification or a master's degree, such as an MBA in Material Management shall be preferred. Incumbents having the Qualifications of B. Pharma & or M. Pharma shall also be preferred. Computer literacy is preferred additionally.

Experience : Proven work experience (typically 5 – 7 years) as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent, or in a similar procurement role is essential. Further the following is also strongly preferred :

Technical Skills : Proficiency with procurement software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) is necessary for data analysis and reporting.

Industry Knowledge : A deep understanding of supply chain procedures, inventory management, and market trends relevant to the organization's specific industry is crucial.

Negotiation Skills : Excellent ability to negotiate contracts, pricing & terms to secure advantageous deals for the company while fostering mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities : Strong skills in data analysis, cost analysis, and critical thinking to evaluate suppliers, identify cost-saving opportunities & resolve supply chain issues or delays.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills : The ability to communicate effectively with internal stake holders (finance, operations, etc.) & external suppliers is vital for collaboration & relationship management.

Strategic Thinking & Foresight : The capacity to look beyond day-to-day tasks, analyze market conditions, forecast future needs & develop long-term sourcing strategies that align with business objectives.

Integrity and Ethical Conduct : High personal integrity and accountability are foundational, ensuring all procurement activities are conducted ethically and transparently.
