Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships with key vendors.

- Oversee the import process, including coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and ensuring compliance with import regulations.

- Negotiate favorable terms, prices, and payment conditions with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement cost-saving initiatives.

- Collaborate with stores team to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.- Implement inventory control measures to enhance efficiency and reduce carrying costs.

- Work closely with internal team members to understand and meet their procurement needs.

- Generate regular reports on procurement and import activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, assess supplier performance, and make data-driven decisions.

- Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

- Proven experience in leading and managing a procurement team.

- In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
