Purchase Manager

Responsibilities:

• Manage supplier relationships through vendor development & price negotiation
• Lead purchasing strategy for sheet metal, stamping parts & fabrication.

• Department: Purchase & Sourcing
• Role Objective:
• To lead procurement and sourcing activities for stamping and sheet metal components, ensuring cost competitiveness, supplier quality, and timely availability of materials aligned with the company’s manufacturing and production goals.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for stamping and sheet metal parts.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for new projects and localization initiatives.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and supply assurance.
• Ensure supplier compliance with quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Work closely with design, production, and quality teams for new product development (NPD) and value engineering initiatives.
• Manage vendor performance through regular audits, reviews, and scorecards.
• Monitor market trends, raw material price fluctuations (steel, sheet metal grades), and drive cost optimization.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term supply stability and performance.
• Coordinate with logistics and planning for on-time material availability and inventory control.
• Support CAPEX procurement related to stamping tools, dies, and fixtures when required.
• Desired Candidate Profile:
• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering; MBA in Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience:10-15 years of experience in buying and sourcing of stamping, sheet metal, and fabricated parts in the automotive or component manufacturing industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of stamping processes, tool design, and sheet metal grades.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Understanding of costing and cost breakdown analysis.
