Job Description

Job Summary:

Purchase Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, evaluate, and qualify new vendors and suppliers.
Understand technical specifications and ensure procurement of materials and components that meet required standards.
Prepare RFQs (Request for Quotations), compare quotes, and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams (design, production, QA/QC, finance) to align purchasing decisions with project and operational needs.
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
Assist in inventory control and materials planning.
Track supplier performance and manage vendor relationships.
Work on cost reduction initiatives and process improvements in the procurement function.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation and communication skills
Experience in handling Motors, Hydraulics and Panels.
Technical understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
Knowledge of supply chain management principles
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally)
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Familiarity with Costing, vendor development and auditing
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
