Purchase Engineer

We are seeking a qualified *Mechanical Engineer* to join our *Purchase Department*. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring technical components and materials, ensuring alignment with design and manufacturing requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, supplier management, and cost-effective procurement strategies. --- *Preferred Industry Experience:* * Automotive* Heavy Engineering* Industrial Machinery* Oil & Gas Equipment Manufacturing* Process Industry --- *Key Responsibilities:* * Analyze technical drawings and specifications to determine procurement requirements.* Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.* Prepare and review purchase orders ensuring accuracy in terms of quantity, specifications, and terms.* Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to align procurement with project needs.* Negotiate prices and contract terms with vendors for best value and quality.* Monitor supplier performance and maintain vendor relationships.* Ensure timely delivery of materials/components to avoid production delays.* Evaluate and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.* Maintain up-to-date records of procurement transactions and vendor databases.* Support internal audits and compliance requirements related to procurement. --- *Qualifications & Skills:* * *Education:* B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)* *Experience:* 0 to 1 years in procurement or technical purchase role in a manufacturing setup* Strong understanding of mechanical components, BOMs, and engineering drawings* Familiar with procurement processes, ERP systems and inventory management* Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel* Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
