Project Technician (Multi-skilled)

The C V Raman Global University is looking for a multi-skilled technician to provide diverse technical services to a research project in the area of cryogenic engineering on temporary basis. As services are necessary on continuous basis for about 3 years.

Title of the engagement: Project technician [Temporary]

Nature of the engagement: The position is strictly temporary and shall remain valid only during the period explicitly stated in the offer including subsequent extensions if any, and within the tenure of the research project whichever is earlier.

Duration: Till 31st March 2026, or end of the project which is earlier. In case the project is extended beyond 31st March 2026, a second appointment of one year shall be given starting 1st April 2026 subject to satisfactory performance and attendance record. Further engagement is possible on year to year basis, but under no circumstances the engagement will go beyond 19th November 2028, the closing date of the project.

The engagement is not for any regular activity of the University, nor of the project sponsor and cannot be converted to any regular position.

Tenure of Project: 3 Years. The position is temporary and co-terminous with the project.

Emoluments: Rs 15,000 to 20,000/- per month (Consolidated); No allowance, such as HRA, is admissible, depending on experience and performance in trade test.

Essential Qualifications (All):

• ITI certificate in one area out of the following list: refrigeration & air conditioning, plumbing, fitting, welding, machining.
• Proficiency in at least one of the remaining trades.

Desirable Qualification and experience [any one or more attributes out of the following].

• High level proficiency in fundamental workshop skills such as refrigeration & air conditioning, fault diagnosis, fitting and assembly,
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with cryogenic and vacuum systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Helping faculty and students in carrying out research in the field of cryogenic engineering,
• General upkeep of the laboratory, and operating and running equipment under guidance of faculty and research students.

Working hours: Monday Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. including 30 minute lunchbreak. Holidays and leave as per university rules. Attendance recorded by biometric tools.

Age Limit: Maximum 62 years as on last day of this advertisement.

GENERAL INFORMATION / DETAILS ABOUT THE POST

1. The engagement is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the research project.

2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment / absorption in Funding Agency or in CGU Bhubaneswar.

3. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized ITI or comparable Institution.

4. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the trade test + discussion.

5. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.

6. No interim enquiries / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.

7. Canvassing in any form and / or bringing any influence, political, or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post applied for.

Note: The initial engagement shall be till 31st March 2026 which will be extended on yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance in each year, till validity of the project period or a total duration of 3 years whichever comes earlier. There is no provision of automatic enhancement of compensation on annual basis.
