Job Description

Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and schedules. Facilitate regular communication among stakeholders and provide timely project updates and reports.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of automation projects, with a focus on mechanical integration
  • Manage outsourced fabrication vendors for timely delivery of fixtures, structures, and mechanical components
  • Monitor manufacturing stagescutting, machining, welding, surface treatment, and assemblyto ensure quality and timelines
  • Evaluate and manage quality standards across all stages of mechanical manufacturing and assembly
  • Oversee skilled installation personnel for assembly, alignment, and commissioning activities
  • Conduct site surveys to assess layout constraints, readiness, and installation feasibility
  • Validate BIW tooling, fixture alignment, and part geometry to ensure dimensional accuracy and process readiness
  • Monitor and optimize project resourcesincluding cost, manpower allocation, and timeline adherence
  • Resolve technical and operational challenges during installation and commissioning
  • Maintain documentation including installation checklists, progress reports, and closure records
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and clients on project status, risks, and milestones

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: Proven experience in project management within the automotive or manufacturing industry, specifically in tooling, fixtures, or related areas.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of BIW processes, fixture design, and tooling manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results within defined timelines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
