Project Engineer Gas Monitoring & Life Safety Systems

As an Engineer at Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of Gas Monitoring, Gas Leak Detection, and Life Safety Systems within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. TEPL, a greenfield venture of the Tata Group, is dedicated to manufacturing precision components and is currently building India's first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry to produce chips for various applications. Your key responsibilities will include designing and configuring gas detection systems for semiconductor fabs, integrating gas detectors with FMCS and BMS platforms, conducting risk assessments to ensure compliance with life safety standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams for system commissioning, troubleshooting and maintaining gas monitoring infrastructure, preparing technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials, as well as interfacing with vendors for product selection, installation, and support. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field) along with at least 10 years of experience in gas monitoring life safety systems. Experience in semiconductor fab projects is mandatory, and familiarity with gas detector brands such as Drger, Riken Keiki, Honeywell, etc., is required. Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, control logic, and system architecture, as well as greenfield start-up and commissioning experience in Gas monitoring systems are essential. Experience with cleanroom safety and semiconductor-grade gas systems is highly desirable. Preferred qualifications include a strong understanding of hazardous gas handling and safety protocols, experience in SCADA and PLC-based control systems, as well as excellent communication and documentation skills.
