As an Engineer at Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of Gas Monitoring, Gas Leak Detection, and Life Safety Systems within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. TEPL, a greenfield venture of the Tata Group, is dedicated to manufacturing precision components and is currently building India's first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry to produce chips for various applications. Your key responsibilities will include designing and configuring gas detection systems for semiconductor fabs, integrating gas detectors with FMCS and BMS platforms, conducting risk assessments to ensure compliance with life safety standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams for system commissioning, troubleshooting and maintaining gas monitoring infrastructure, preparing technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials, as well as interfacing with vendors for product selection, installation, and support. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field) along with at least 10 years of experience in gas monitoring life safety systems. Experience in semiconductor fab projects is mandatory, and familiarity with gas detector brands such as Drger, Riken Keiki, Honeywell, etc., is required. Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, control logic, and system architecture, as well as greenfield start-up and commissioning experience in Gas monitoring systems are essential. Experience with cleanroom safety and semiconductor-grade gas systems is highly desirable. Preferred qualifications include a strong understanding of hazardous gas handling and safety protocols, experience in SCADA and PLC-based control systems, as well as excellent communication and documentation skills. As a skilled professional in the field, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and developing HMI & SCADA applications. Your role will involve planning, specifying, organizing, and participating in testing activities to ensure the smooth functioning of these applications. Additionally, you will be required to provide technical inputs for equipment sourcing, evaluate equipment, and support the production of high-quality documents and specifications. Your expertise in HMI design, communication protocols, and Ethernet network configurations will be essential for the successful execution of tasks. Furthermore, you will be expected to support commissioning activities and contribute to the overall success of projects. With a background in DCS, HMI Design, and System design, you will leverage your working experience to implement and test HMIs in various DCS environments. Your proficiency in preparing screen layouts, animations, alarms/event indications, HMI philosophy, and navigation for legacy systems will be highly valued. Moreover, your ability to convert HMI data files and implement HMIs on target systems like 800xA and Splus will be crucial for project success. In this role, your responsibilities will include planning and monitoring Internal and Customer FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) schedules. You will review and interpret project quality and engineering documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements and international standards. Identifying and defining test requirements and procedures specific to metering systems will be part of your duties. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain FAT procedures and checklists, ensuring the availability and calibration of testing instruments and calibration cylinders. Conducting incoming material inspections and routine quality checks at the Talegaon facility will also be a key responsibility. You will be responsible for performing internal testing of Analytical Systems, Sample Handling Systems (SHS), and related instrumentation during pre-FAT. Generating, tracking, and issuing Calibration and FAT reports will be part of your role, along with leading FAT sessions with customers to demonstrate system functionality, communication, and logic testing. Investigating equipment failures during testing or warranty claims, supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions (CA), and identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities will also be within your scope of work. Ensuring compliance with quality standards, procedures, work instructions, templates, and demonstrating adherence during internal, project, or external audits will be essential. To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum qualification of a Diploma or Bachelors in Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline, with 2 to 8 years of experience in testing functions related to instrumentation and control systems. Hands-on experience with the configuration, testing, calibration, and communication of Process Liquid and Gas Analyzers like GC, CEMS etc. is required. Familiarity with Analytical Systems, Sample Handling Systems, and Control Panels is also necessary. Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills are essential, with experience supporting both domestic and international customers. Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, cause & effect matrices, and technical specifications is expected. Knowledge of international standards such as NEC, ISO 9001, and IEC (Area Classification, Ingress Protection) will be beneficial. Industry experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Service sectors is preferred.
