About the Organization

Jana Kalyana Samakhya (JKS) is a registered, secular, not-for-profit development organization in established in 1991. Over the past three decades, JKS has implemented sustainable development initiatives across three districts of Northern Andhra Pradesh and one district in Southern Odisha.

The organization’s work spans multiple sectors, including agriculture and livelihood promotion, women’s empowerment, community development, environment and natural resource management, health and disability inclusion, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), soil and water conservation, education, and child rights. Through its participatory and community-based approach, JKS strives to empower marginalized rural families to achieve sustainable livelihoods and improved quality of life.

JKS partners with a diverse range of stakeholders, including international funding agencies, CSR foundations, and government departments, to design and implement impactful programs that promote inclusive and resilient rural development.

About the Project & Position

JKS is launching a new agriculture and livelihoods project in Parvathipuram Manyam district aimed at promoting sustainable farming practices, enhancing rural livelihoods, and strengthening community resilience. To lead this initiative, we are seeking a Project Coordinator (Agriculture & Livelihoods) with proven expertise in rural development, sustainable agriculture, community mobilization, and government liaison.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall implementation of the new project and ensure effective field-level execution.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Extension Workers for planning and implementing project activities.
  • Support in developing community mobilization strategies and Village Development Plans (VDPs).
  • Monitor the Project Implementation Plan (PIP) and ensure alignment with fund utilization cycles.
  • Track project progress against timelines and budgets, taking timely corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with donors and partners, providing updates on project milestones and outcomes.
  • Support donor relationship management and foster strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate frequently with government departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, ITDA, DRDA, MGNREGS, and others to align project activities with government schemes and programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with government officials to facilitate project implementation and leverage available resources.
  • Prepare quarterly progress reports, Annual/project closure reports, and success stories.
  • Strengthen project visibility through social media, video documentation.
  • Represent JKS and the project at relevant external meetings, events, and forums.
  • Ensure timely internal and external communication, including programmatic and financial updates.
  • Coordinate effectively with all project teams and support functions to maintain synergy across activities.

Qualification and Experience

Candidates must hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Agriculture or a related discipline. A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in the NGO or development sector, specifically in agriculture, livelihoods, and rural development, is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, leading field teams, achieving measurable results in community-based programs, and building strong relationships with government departments.

Work Location

The position is based at Parvathipuram, Andhra Pradesh, with frequent travel across 4–6 blocks or mandals for field monitoring, supervision, and coordination with village-level teams.

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in line with organizational norms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,687.18 - ₹42,559.82 per month
