Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Chennai
Experience: 10 to 15 years
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering/Printing technology
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning: Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to ensure timely delivery of components and subassemblies, meeting quality and quantity targets.
- Process Optimization: Coordinate with design/process engineering to optimize process flows, fixture designs, tooling, and cycle times.
- Quality Control: Ensure production meets defined quality standards, monitor defects, scrap rates, and take corrective action when deviations occur.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with machining, turning, welding, inspection, and finishing units to ensure efficient machine utilization and minimize changeovers.
- Cost Reduction: Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs and improve production processes and product quality.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure safety compliance and adherence to HSE norms on the shop floor.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of machining processes, process planning, tooling, and fixtures
- Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing)
- Familiarity with production planning tools, ERP/MRP, and scheduling
- Data-driven mindset with experience in estimating cycle times
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma/process optimization methodologies is a plus
- Good communication and coordination skills
