Job Summary

Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage all production activities related to transformer manufacturing (core building, winding, assembly, tanking, drying, oil filling, testing, etc.).
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and cost-efficiency.
• Coordinate with departments including design, procurement, quality control, and logistics to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Monitor production schedules, work orders, and manpower allocation to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards, ISO procedures, and internal quality guidelines.
• Track KPIs such as output rate, yield, rejection rate, rework, and downtime.
• Manage workforce performance, training, and development of production staff.
• Oversee maintenance of machines, tools, and infrastructure used in the transformer manufacturing process.
• Resolve production-related issues including equipment failures, process deviations, and workforce challenges.
• Support audits, customer inspections, and factory acceptance tests (FAT) as needed.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies across the shop floor.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (MBA or PMP is a plus).
• 510 years of experience in transformer manufacturing, with at least 23 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of transformer production processes, materials, tools, and testing procedures.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, IS, and ISO 9001.
• Hands-on experience in production planning, shop floor control, and quality assurance.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Exposure to dry-type and oil-immersed transformers (distribution and power levels).
• Knowledge of supply chain coordination and vendor management.
• Familiarity with electromechanical assembly processes and testing protocols.
  

Work Environment

• Factory environment with regular presence on the shop floor.
• Occasional travel to suppliers or customer sites may be required.
• Must be comfortable working in high-voltage and heavy equipment manufacturing environments.
