Production Manager - Battery Manufacturing

Role & responsibilities

Production Planning and Control

• Develop and implement production schedules based on sales forecasts and inventory levels.
• Allocate resources (labour, equipment, materials) to meet production targets.
• Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Team Management

• Supervise and lead production staff, including supervisors, operators, and technicians.
• Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct employee evaluations.
• Identify training needs and organize development programs.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with company and regulatory quality standards.
• Monitor product quality and perform root-cause analysis for production problems.

Process Improvement

• Analyse production data and workflows to identify areas for efficiency gains.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Reduce waste, optimize costs, and increase productivity.

Inventory and Materials Management

• Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
• Minimize excess inventory while preventing production delays.
• Monitor stock levels of materials and finished goods.

Health and Safety Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
• Investigate incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Reporting and Communication

• Maintain accurate records of production volumes, efficiency, and downtime.
• Generate regular reports for senior management.
• Communicate effectively with departments like procurement, maintenance, engineering, and logistics.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 15 years experience in the Production department in Battery manufacturing Industry.
• Skill Required - Control Plan, SOP, WI, CAPA, KAIZEN, Poka Yoke, Manpower handling,
• Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and technologies
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions under pressure, and solve problems effectively
• Understanding of safety regulations and quality management systems
