Production Manager

About the role: As a hands-on Production Manager at our small agrochemical plant, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day operations. You will ensure that batches are produced according to specifications, maintain smooth production lines, and prioritize the safety of the team. Additionally, you will be required to address mechanical issues as they arise. What youll do: - Plan and execute daily production activities - Meet production output, quality, and cost targets while monitoring key performance indicators - Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems related to equipment and utilities such as pumps, mixers, centrifuges, compressors, and boilers - Uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations including personal protective equipment (PPE), permits, and housekeeping - Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), procurement, and logistics departments - Supervise shift teams, provide training, and create schedules - Manage inventory levels of raw and packaging materials to minimize downtime and reduce wastage What youll need: - 5-8 years of experience in chemical/agrochemical manufacturing, with a preference for experience in a small-plant setting - Proficiency in technical and mechanical troubleshooting with a hands-on approach - Understanding of batch operations, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), utilities, and basic automation - Strong commitment to safety with knowledge of EHS practices and material safety data sheet (MSDS) handling - Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication abilities, and basic proficiency in Excel and reporting Nice to have: - Degree or Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, or Production related field - Exposure to ISO standards, process safety management, and preventive maintenance systems Details: This is a full-time, on-site position with shift coverage as required.
