You will be joining the 24/7 Mainframe Operations Center team responsible for end-to-end monitoring of Mainframe Batch Operations at Nordik Bank. The primary goal is to ensure that business processes are met through batch schedules as per the requirements of the development areas. Additionally, there is a focus on optimizing the organization's effectiveness by driving value addition initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers across the bank and infrastructure teams, providing an opportunity to upskill your technical skills and competencies for Batch Operations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring batch jobs and scheduling using IWS OPC, interacting with clients and different teams on a daily basis, and coordinating with the application team for any issues during batch cycles for applications. You will need to understand critical deadline times for applications and demonstrate the ability to fix batch failures within SLA. This involves resolving abends, restarting, marking jobs complete, canceling jobs, analyzing late jobs, etc., through OPC scheduler. Participation in Major incident bridge calls and handling all meetings and discussions regarding implementations and changes are also part of the role. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports and documents, handling ad hoc requests to schedule particular jobs and applications in OPC, taking care of production batch job abends by following operator instructions, and escalating to the appropriate support group when necessary. You will be responsible for providing immediate fixes, submitting jobs, investigating long-running jobs, and changing the priorities and service classes of the Region's job if required. Additional skills that can be advantageous for this role include performing mainframe console operations system health checks, performing IPL on all the LPARs during maintenance windows, troubleshooting during the IPL, replying to WTORs referring to process documents, handling hardware-related issues by raising service requests with the hardware provider, and handling resource contentions and taking actions for alerts on the production system. You will also be responsible for performing DR tests, attending daily huddle and change meetings, enabling transactions through automation and commands, and having knowledge of the HMC tool.
