Production Engineer

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth and efficient production operations in the press shop by managing manpower, machines, dies, and materials while maintaining product quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute daily production activities in the press shop to achieve production targets.
  
• Monitor and control machine performance, OEE, and downtime to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance of presses and dies.
  
• Ensure proper setup and changeover of dies with minimal downtime.
  
• Maintain process parameters and ensure adherence to work instructions and quality standards.
  
• Conduct root cause analysis for rejections, breakdowns, and process deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  
• Ensure compliance with safety norms and 5S in the press shop area.
  
• Collaborate with quality, tool room, and planning teams to resolve production and quality-related issues.
  
• Train and supervise operators and ensure discipline and productivity on the shop floor.
  
• Monitor material availability and coordinate with PPC and stores for timely issue and return of materials.
  
• Maintain production records, logbooks, and documentation as per ISO/IATF standards.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  
• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in the press shop of a sheet metal auto component manufacturing company.
  
• Experience working in Tier-1 automotive supplier setups preferred.
