About the Role

Product Owner

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the

    Product Owner

    for settlement and securities-related products within the capital markets domain.
  • Define and manage the

    product roadmap

    ,

    backlog

    , and

    user stories

    to align with business and regulatory goals.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, and technology teams to gather and translate requirements into actionable technical features.
  • Ensure alignment with

    regulatory frameworks

    such as

    ESMA

    ,

    MiFID II

    , and

    other settlement and trade reporting standards

    .
  • Drive the implementation of solutions involving

    Euroclear, EURIBOR, LIBOR, and exchange rate processing

    .
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate

    trade settlement

    ,

    reconciliation

    , and

    data integrity

    across systems.
  • Use

    JIRA

    or similar tools to manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery tracking.
  • Prioritize enhancements, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality product features.
  • Partner with QA and UAT teams to validate requirements and ensure compliance and accuracy of settlement flows.
  • Continuously assess process and system improvements to enhance settlement efficiency, regulatory compliance, and automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience

    in

    Product Ownership / Business Analysis

    within

    Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Financial Services

    .
  • Deep functional knowledge of

    Trade Lifecycle Management

    ,

    Securities Settlements

    ,

    Reconciliation

    , and

    Corporate Actions

    .
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Euroclear, EURIBOR, LIBOR

      mechanisms
    • Exchange rate processing and trade rates

    • ESMA regulatory compliance and reporting standards

  • Experience in working with

    Agile / Scrum

    frameworks and proficiency with

    JIRA / Confluence

    .
  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence business and technical teams.

Good to Have

  • Prior experience working with

    settlement systems (e.g., SWIFT, CREST, Euroclear, Clearstream)

    .
  • Familiarity with

    payment messaging standards (SWIFT MT/MX)

    .
  • Exposure to

    cloud-based product environments

    or

    digital transformation projects

    in BFSI.
  • Certifications such as

    CSPO

    ,

    PSPO

    , or

    Agile Product Management

    are a plus.
